炭山には30を超える京焼・清水焼の陶房があり、そのうちの8陶房が炭山陶芸に所属しています。
京焼・清水焼の特徴として、一定の様式というものはなくそれぞれの陶房ごとに味わいの違った陶芸品を作っています。

There are more than thirty Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki pottery workshops in this area and eight workshops belong to Sumiyama Pottery. Each workshop creates unique artworks which meet trends of the time in accordance with good old traditions. Please enjoy walking around Sumiyama just referring to this map.
